Dear Governor Owens:
I am writing this letter to implore you to reconsider your position on the Front Range Toll Road.
Not only will it uproot many, many farming families and business, but the "little" land owners, such as myself.
I realize that my little 160 acres may not seem like a lot to many of the big farmers, but that property is just as important to me and my family as theirs is to them. My family and friends derive much enjoyment from my property - hunting, playing in the river, watching the wildlife, etc. I am able to pursue my interests and hobbies on that property.
The thought that one man can come in and, with eminent domain, take away something which I have worked long and hard for is not only terrifying, but infuriating. What right does he have to come in and uproot my family and the families of local farmers and their families in order to put money into his pockets. This "eminent domain" law is outdated and shouldn't even continue to be on the books. It is simply something to be exploited by someone such as Ray Wells, for his own personal gain.
Please, please, please rethink your position on the FRTR - many, many, many livelihoods depend on this proposal dying a rapid death.
Thank you for your attention on this matter.
Sincerely,
Darla Schmitt
